This Privacy Policy explains how Hitwardhini ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Hitwardhini mobile application. Hitwardhini is a matrimonial profile, interest, and messaging service.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:
- Account information: login ID, email address, authentication details, and account identifier.
- Matrimonial profile information: full name, gender, phone number, date of birth, education, occupation, city, height, profile photo, and biodata document.
- Activity information: profiles you save, interests you send or receive, blocks, and messages exchanged with other users.
- Payment-related information: subscription status, expiry date, and Razorpay payment reference ID. Payment processing is handled by Razorpay. We do not store your full card, bank account, or UPI credentials.
- App preferences: settings such as your selected language, stored locally on your device.
- Files and camera content: photos or biodata files only when you choose to capture or upload them for a profile or app feature.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create, display, and manage matrimonial profiles.
- Authenticate users and provide account access.
- Enable profile discovery, saved profiles, interests, blocks, and chat.
- Process subscriptions or donations and record payment status.
- Provide support, prevent misuse, administer the service, and comply with legal obligations.
Profile Visibility
Matrimonial profiles are intended to be viewed by other authorized users of the service. Information displayed in a profile may include your name, photo, gender, age or date-of-birth-derived details, city, education, occupation, height, phone number, and biodata document. Only provide information you are comfortable sharing through the app.
Service Providers and Sharing
We may share information only as needed to operate the app:
- Supabase: authentication, database, file storage, server functions, and real-time app features.
- Razorpay: payment processing. Razorpay may receive transaction details and payment-prefill information such as your email address or phone number when available.
- Other authorized Hitwardhini users: profile information and messages as required for matrimonial and communication features.
- Authorities or legal recipients: when required by law or necessary to protect users, our rights, or the service.
We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information, including authenticated access and service-side controls. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. You can request account deletion from within the app. You can also review the external deletion instructions on our Delete Your Hitwardhini Account page.
When an account deletion request is completed, account records and associated app data are deleted except where retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons. Residual backups may remain temporarily until they are overwritten through normal backup cycles.
Your Choices
- You may update profile information within the app.
- You may decline optional camera or file access and avoid uploading optional content.
- You may delete your account through the in-app deletion option or use the external deletion page.
Children's Privacy
Hitwardhini is intended for adults seeking matrimonial services. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
